Public interest action in rural France cannot succeed without solid local government partnership. The Commune de Liginiac is our primary institutional partner, providing both physical and financial foundations that enable our volunteer team to operate the municipal library in Le Bourg.
Under our bilateral partnership convention, approved by formal municipal deliberation, the Commune de Liginiac provides:
Physical Infrastructure: Fully heated and electrified library premises in the municipal building of Le Bourg, complete with public sanitary facilities, modern LED lighting, and an exterior wheelchair access ramp adhering to French public building accessibility standards (ERP).
Annual Operating Grant: A dedicated municipal budgetary subsidy allocated exclusively for the purchase of newly published books, reference literature, and children's collections.
Logistical Support: Municipal technical services assist with the transport of heavy exhibition panels, maintenance of display cases, and seasonal distribution of event posters across municipal notice boards.

A rural municipal library cannot maintain a massive physical inventory on its own. Through our integration into the network of the Bibliothèque Départementale de la Corrèze (BDC), operated by the Conseil Départemental, the readers of Liginiac enjoy access to over 300,000 titles held in the departmental repositories in Tulle.

The Departmental Book Shuttle (*La Navette BDC*)
Every four weeks, the specialized BDC delivery shuttle visits Liginiac, delivering specific reader book requests and rotating a batch of 200 to 300 fresh titles—including large-print novels, audiobooks, graphic novels, and specialized documentaries. This rotating pool ensures that our shelves are constantly refreshed without requiring excessive local acquisition expenditure.

Through our departmental accreditation, all registered readers in Liginiac receive free access to the BDC's online digital platform. Parc Naturel Régional de Millevaches en Limousin
Liginiac borders the expansive natural park of Millevaches. We partner with park eco-guides to host environmental literacy conferences, display scientific botany and zoology publications, and organize guided nature-reading excursions where ecological texts are read aloud amidst the natural landscapes that inspired them.
